Daughters Are So Beautiful

If you never had a daughter,

then you don't know what I mean,
To say a daughter's beautiful,
is more than can be seen.

It's a feeling we all have,
way down deep inside,
To know she's yours alone,
is a feeling you can't hide.

A man says she's my daughter and
his eyes gleam with pride,
It's really truly wonderful,
the feeling he can't hide.

He'll always have his little girl,
no matter what her age,
Even when she's all grown up,
and left and gone away.

To see the worry on his face,
to feel his hurt so deep,
When she leaves home the first time,
to go across the street.

When she goes away to live her life,
as they all do,
The tenderness he shows,
will always stay true.

She will always know her father cares,
no matter where she lives,
Because her father loves her so,
no matter where she is.

A mother that's no different,
she loves her daughter too,
But she's the one that teaches her,
to cross that street so new.

She teaches her the meaning,
of love that is so strong,
When daughter leaves home the first time,
it's mother who is strong.

Mother's love their daughters,
just as much as dads,
For daughters are so beautiful,
is really almost sad.

My Son

I remember the night God sent a child to me,

a precious boy my eyes to see.
A tiny boy to grow big and strong,
mine to teach right from wrong.

I picked him up when he fell down,
turned into smiles all of his frowns.
I walked him to school that very first day,
watched him mold tiny people
from a hunk of clay.

I helped him ride his trike and bike of red,
listened to his prayers at night before bed.
From every birthday cake a candle I secretly saved,
never forgot to thank God for the wonderful years he gave.

I worked very hard to make his college years right,
watched him cram for exams late into the night.
Then graduation day quickly came and went,
I knew my money had been wisely spent.

I knew I'd explain well all the facts of life,
when the minister pronounced them man and wife.
It was late last night I heard the telephone ring,
my son told of the child God would soon bring.

I know my son will feel the same as I,
as through the years memories fly by.
It all began the night, God sent a child to me,
a precious boy my eyes to see.
